I am not a Korean but I'm a K-pop fans. Recently, I am watching Produce101.
Since I am not good at Korean, I will use English in this post.
This is a very strange phenomenon. We always kill confident kids. In Korea, or it should be said that in Asia, people expect you to be humble about their success or ability.

Because the confidence of the exposure of the light, in the eyes of others is dazzling disgusting. Why??
Some trainees have confident, or had confident (확신), but we think that they are arrogant (거만한). Their self-confidence never looked down on other trainees. They believe and know their own ability, but also exposed their ambitions, you should not forget that this is a survival program.
For example,  1. 안형섭

He said that he felt disappointed about his ranking. People shouted at him. 

His ranking 6->20. He felt afraid and became less confident.

 

 

2. 김사무엘 People all know that he is good at dancing, A-level boy. (좋은 강도, 문자는 매우 솔직한 아이입니다)

 

He has the ability competing with cute boy 박지훈.

But we shouted at him just because he said "I would not give up (포기) A." "I want to be no.1"

We give him a bad ranking not because of his "bad" ability, but just don't want him get a good result. (A-level, 1000m+views in Youtube, but only 34 picks)

He even did not know why we hate him. (Some people said that "Love Samuel = Chinese". However, in fact, Chinese supports Chinese boy and Taiwan boy > Samuel. We can hate Chinese, but it is fool if we think all Chinese love Samuel.)

Is he really 거만한? I think not.

He doesn't know how to correct himself and be better. (Ranking 2->16)

 

3. 이대휘

He is center at first. But then, we anti him, we hate him.

 

In fact, his ability is high. He is good at singing, dancing, and also writing songs. 

 

You may say that, he is humble now and I don't hate him any more. But you guys, have already kill his confidence. When trainees want to pick a center, his face...

 

He afraid that if he was a center again, you guys would shout at him again. 

(Ranking: Center->7->4)

In conclusion, What I see is 

Hate 안형섭 = Correct

Hate 김사무엘 = Correct

Lower 이대휘's confidence - Correct

We have no need to see ability...But We Must Let All People Be Humble.
