덕은 겸양에서 생기며
Virtue comes from a humble mind and
지혜는 고요히 생각하는데서 생긴다
A tranquil mind is the way for your sagacity.
근심은 애욕에서 생기고
Be aware that anxiety comes from your passion and
재앙은 물욕에서 생기며
Misfortune is not far from your greediness.
허물은 경망에서 생기고
Deed with no consideration brings confusion and
죄는 참지 못하는데서 생긴다
Having no patience is the source of a crime.
눈을 조심하여 남의 그릇됨을 보지말고
Control your eyes to see good in others and
입을 조심하여 실없는 말을 하지 말며
Avoid talking nonsense.
몸을 조심하여 나쁜 친구를 사귀지 말고
Do not get along with those who will give you bad influences,
어른을 공경하고 덕있는 이를 받들며
Respect elders and follow the ones with virtue instead.
지혜로운 이를 따르고
Comply with those who have wisdom and
모르는 이를 너그럽게 용서하라
Have mercy on those who know not what they do.
오는것을 거절말고 가는것을 잡지말며
Let things come and go as they wish and
Do not being disturbed by them.
내몸 대우 없음에 바라지 말고
Consider not how they treat you and
일이 지나갔음에 원망하지 마라
Complain not for things passed by.
남을 해하면 마침내 그것이 자기에게 돌아오고
If you hurt others, you will pay for it in your Karma and
세력을 의지하면 도리어 재화가 따르느니라.
