Love Potion Number Nine

I took my troubles down to Madam Rue

You know, that gypsy with the gold-capped tooth

She's got a pad down on 34th and Vine

Selling little bottles of Love Potion number nine

I told her that I was a lop with chicks

I've been this way since 1956

She looked at my palm and she made a magic sign

She said, "What you need is Love Potion number nine"

She bent down and turned around and gave me a wink

She said I'm gonna make it up right here in the sink

It smelled like turpentine and looked like indian ink

I held my nose, I closed my eyes (I took a drink)

I didn't know if it was day or night

I started kissin' everything in sight

난 고미ㄴ거리를 가지고 루 아줌마한테 갔지요

금이빨을 한 집시 아줌마 말이에요,

그 아줌마는 34번가와 Vine 거리사이에 집이 있어요

작은 병에 든 사랑의 묘약을 팔고 있죠

아줌마에게 말했어요, 난 여자에게 채이기만 한다고

1956년 이래 계속 그렇다고

그녀는 내 손바닥을 보더니 이상한 주문을 외웠어요

그리고  말하더군요, "니가 필요한 건 사랑의 묘약 제 9번이야"

아줌만 허리를 굽힌 채 나를 돌아보며 윙크를 하더군요

그리곤 바로 여기 싱크대에서 그 약을 만들어준다고 했어요

그건 송진냄새가 나고 모양은 먹물 같았어요

난 코를 막고 눈을 감았죠, 그리곤 꿀꺽 마셔버렸어요

난 잠인지 낮인지도 분간 할 수도 없었어요

내 눈에 보이는 것은 모조리 키스를 하기 시작했다구요
