If we could shrink the earth's population to village of precisely 100 people, with all the existing human ratios remaining the same, it would look something like the following:
There would be: 57 Asians 21 Europeans 14 from the Western Hemisphere, both north and south 8 Africans
52 would be female 48 would be male
70 would be non-white 30 would be white
70 would be non-Christian 30 would be Christian
89 would be heterosexual 11 would be homosexual
6 people would possess 59% of the entire world's wealth and all 6 would be from the United States.
80 would live in substandard housing 70 would be unable to read 50 would suffer from malnutrition 1 would be near death; 1 would be near birth
1 (yes,only 1) would have a college education 1 would own a computer
When one considers our world from such a compressed perspective,the need for acceptance, understanding and education becomes glaringly apparent.
The following is also something to ponder..
If you woke up this morning with more health than illness..ypu are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.
If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation.. you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.
If you can attend a church meething without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death..you are more blessed than three billion people in the world.
If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep..you are richer than 75% of this world.
If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace...you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.
If your parents are alive and still married...you are very rare, even in the United States and Canada.
If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you, and furthermore, you are more blessed than over two bollion people in the world that cannot at all.
Someone once said: What goes around comes around.
Sooooo.. Work like you don't need the money. Love like you've never been hurt. Dance like nobody's watching. Sing like nobody's listening. Live like it's Heaven on Earth.

이렇게 생각하면 좋은 집에 살고, 먹을 게 충분하고, 글을 읽을 수 있는 사람이라면 아주 선택 받은 사람입니다.
거기다가 컴퓨터를 가지고 있다면 굉장한 엘리트 입니다.
만약 전쟁의 위험, 감옥에서의 고문, 고문으로 인한 고뇌, 기아 의 괴로움을 겪어보지 않은 사람이라면, 세계 인구의 상류 500만 명 중 한 사람인 셈입니다.
만약 고통, 체포, 고문, 나아가서 죽음에 대한 공포 없이 매주 교회에 다닐 수 있는 사람이라면, 이 지구상의 30억 인구가 누리지 못하는 것을 누리고 사는 행운아 입니다.
냉장고에 먹을것이 있고, 몸엔 옷을 걸쳤고, 머리 위로는 지붕이 있어 잠잘 곳이 있는 사람이라면, 이 세상 75%의 사람보다 풍요로운 생활을 하고 있는 것입니다.
만약 부모님 두 분이 모두 살아계시고, 이혼을 하지 않은 상태라면 미국에서 마저도아주 드문 경우일 것입니다.
만약 고개를 들고 얼굴에 웃음을 띄고 기뻐할 수 있는 사람이라 면 축복받았습니다.
만약 당신이 이 글을 읽을 수 있는 사람이라면, 당신을 생각하여 누군가 이 글을 보내주었다는 것을 생각할 때, 축복은 두 배 나 되는 셈입니다.
