He Wishes for the Clothes of Heaven

Had I the heaven's embroidered cloth
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
내게 금빛과 은빛으로 짠 하늘의 천이 있다면

The blue and the dim and the dark cloth
Of night and light and half-light
어둠과 빛과 어스름으로 수놓은 파랗고 어스레하고 검은 천이 있다면

I would spread the cloths under your feet
그 천을 그대 발밑에 깔아드리련만

But I, being poor, have only my dreams:
나는 가난하여 가진것은 꿈뿐이라

I have spread my dreams under your feet:
그대 발밑에 내꿈을 깔았으니

Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
사뿐히 밟으소서... 그대 밟는것 내 꿈이오니...
