평화의 기도                                                 ~ St. Francesco

오, 주님 저를 당신의 평화의 도구로 써 주소서.

미움이 있는 곳에 사랑을,

다툼이 있는 곳에 용서를,

의혹이 있는 곳에 믿음을 심게 하소서.

절망이 있는 곳에 희망을,

어둠이 있는 곳에 밝음을,

슬픔이 있는 곳에 기쁨을 심게 하소서.

오, 거룩하신 주님.

제가 위로받으려 애쓰기보다는 위로할 수 있도록,

이해받으려 애쓰기보다는 이해할 수 있도록,

사랑받으려 애쓰기보다는 사랑할수 있도록 도와주소서.

우리는 줌으로써 받고,

용서함으로써 용서받으며,

죽음으로써 영생을 얻기 때문입니다.

Lord,
make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred,
let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love;
for it is in giving
that we receive;
it is in pardoning
that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying
that we are born to eternal life.
