Poem - To the Virgins to Make much of Time

Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,

시간이 있을때 장미봉우리를 거두라

Old time is still a-flying,

시간은 흘러

And this same flower that smiles today,

오늘 핀 꽃은

Tomorrow will be die.

내일이면 질 것이니

Oh, me! Oh, life! Of the questions of these recurring,

오, 나여! 오 생명이여! 수없이 던지는 이 의문!

Of the endless trains of the fatihless,

믿음없는 자들로 이어지는 도시

Of the cities filled with foolish,

바보들로 넘쳐흐르는 도시

What good amid these Oh, me! Oh, life!

아름다움을 어디서 찾아야할까?

오 나여! 오 생명이여!

The answere, that you are here.

대답은 한가지, 네가 거기에 있다는 것

That life exists and identity.

생명과 존재가 있다는 것

That the powerful play goes on.

화려한 연극은 계속되고

and you may contribute a verse.

너 또한 한 편의 시가 된다는 것

I went to the woods because I wanted to live deliberatey.

나는 자유롭게 살기위해 숲속에 왔다

I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life.

삶의 정수를 빨아들이기 위해 사려깊게 살고싶다

To put to rout all that was not life.

삶이 아닌 것을 모두 떨치고

And not, when I had come to die, discover that I had ne lived.

삶이 다 했을 때 삶에 대해 후회하지 말라

          Seize the day! Make your lives extraordinary.

             현재를 즐겨라! 너의 인생을 특별하게 만들어라

     나는 인생의 노예가 아닌 지배자가 되기 위하여 산다.
