Lesson 30 Just like I did in my previous lesson, 이번 레슨에서도 유용하게 사용 할 수 있는 몇가지 표현들을 모아서 정리해 보았습니다. 다음 호 부터는 다시 I'll go back to the usual format~ Situation 1 Out of it=제정신이 아니다/정신이 없다/ a. What happened to you today? You are making the kind of mistakes that you don't normally make~ (너 무슨 일 있어? 평소에 안하던 실수를 이렇게 많이해?) b. I don't know why...I'm just so out of it today~ (나도 왜 그런지 모르겠어...오늘은 제 정신이 아닌거 같아...) ----------- a. Did you just wake up, jd? (너 지금 일어났냐?) b. How did you know? (어떻게 알았어? c. Well, look at you...You look out of it. (니 모습 봐봐...(졸려워서) 정신 없어 보이잖아) ================================================================ Situation 2 Snap out of it=정신 차려라 a. Snap out of it~Why do you have that spaced out look? (정신 차려~ 왜 그렇게 멍한 얼굴 하고 있냐?) To space out=멍한 얼굴을 하다/멍해지다 ex) I space out whenever reading books. -------- a. I know how tough it is to break up with your boyfriend, but you can't feel sad about it all the time like this...You've got to snap out of it~ (남자 친구랑 헤어지는게 얼마나 힘든지는 알겠지만 그렇다고 이렇게 계속 슬퍼 할 수는 없잖아...거기서 헤어 나와야해~) To break up with~=(남자/여자 친구와) 헤어지다 ================================================================ Situation 3 Sucker for...~킬러다/~사족을 못쓰다 To love something obsessively a. I am a sucker for ice creams~. (난 아이스크림 킬러다...) Just now, I ate a pint of Cherry Amaretto flavor all by my self. (방금 전에도 큰통에 있는 체리 아마레토 맛 혼자서 다 먹어버렸어) -------- a. I'm a sucker for pugs. (난 퍼그(강아지 좋류)라면 사족을 못 써) Here's a pic of my pet, no, I mean, youngest brother, Puggy~! kk ========================================================================= Situation 4 Strapped for cash=low on money=돈이 없다 a. Can I borrow some money? (돈 좀 빌려 줄래?) b. Sorry, but I'm basically strapped for cash, so even if i wanted to, I can't lend you any money. (미안한데, 돈을 빌려 주고 싶어도 돈이 없어서 빌려 줄 수가 없어...) --------- a. I want to buy some nice gifts to my friends for this coming Christmas, but because I'm strapped for cash now, I haven't been able to buy anything yet. (이번 크리스마스에 친구들 한테 좋은 선물 해 주고 싶은데 돈이 없어서 아무것도 못 사고 있어...) ================================================================ Situation 5 Seeing/hearing things=헛거 보다/헛거 듣다 a. Hey, did you just see that? A very cute girl just waved at me~ (야, 너도 봤지? 이쁜 여자가 나한테 손 흔든거...) b. A cute what? Why would she wave at you? Where is she anyway? (예쁜 뭐? 왜 너한테 손을 흔드냐? 근데 (너한테 손 흔들었다는) 그 여자는 어딨냐?) a. I don't know...but she was right over there. Anyway, I could tell that she was trying to hit on me. (몰라...바로 저기에 있었느데. 어쨋든 나한테 작업 걸려고 하고 싶어하는 것 같았어...) b. What?
