Last time I insisted that the truth can only be one - and hence it is called the truth and I insisted that it is Jesus the Son of God who is only entitled to be "the truth, the way, and the life". Today I want to argue WHY - in comparison to other religions.
God is a perfect being, and hence he or she or it is called the God. However, human, as we realize, are imperfect. Therefore, from a god's point of view, humans are useless and cannot be tolerated.
Many religions of the world, thus, suggest us to do many good deeds, rituals, rites etc. to be closer and made right with the perfect being. However, a fundamental flaw lies in that it is our deeds that make us right with god.
We have acknowledged that we are imperfect beings, and thus how can any of our deeds be perfect to a god's standard. No it can't. Hence whatever we do, how much efforts we put in, we cannot be made right with God.
However, Christianity suggests a different. It says, it is the God who reaches down to us rather than us trying to reach to God. It is the perfect being who reaches down to us and make us perfect, rather than imperfect us trying be perfect through our imperfect deeds.
That is through Jesus Christ. The perfect God in a perfect human form, and whoever believes in him will be perfectly cleansed of their imperfect natures (i.e. sins) by Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. Then, he will renew us with his holy and perfect nature i.e. giving us the Holy Spirit, and enable us to be continuously right with God.
This is what makes Christianity different from all the other religions and makes it true and real. It is God reaching down to us rather than us trying to reach God.
May God continue his blessing upon you in his great mercy and lead you in to the Light and the Truth.
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. - John 14:6
What makes Christianity true?
