"That they get bored with childhood, they rush to grow up, and then long to be children again."사람들은 어린시절을 지루해하지. 그래서 빨리 자라길 바라고 그리고는 늙어서 다시 어린시절로 돌아가길 바라지. "That they lose their health to make money... and then lose their money to restore their health."돈을 벌기 위해서 건강을 잃어버리고, 그리고는 건강을 되찾기 위해서 돈을 잃어 버리지. "That by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live in neither the present nor the future."미래를 염려하다가 현재를 놓쳐버리고, 마치 사람들은 미래에도 현재에도 살지 않는 것 같아. "That they live as if they will never die, and die as though they had never lived."죽지 않을 것처럼 살더니, 살았던 적이 없었던 것처럼 죽지.2
