That can thy light relume.

촛불을 끄고 다음엔 이 촛불을 꺼야지.

타오르는 촛불아, 너는 껏다가도 뉘우치면 다시 켤 수도 있다.

그러나 온갖 수공을 들여 만든 자연의 본보기인

그대의 촛불은 한번 꺼버리면,

다시 불을 밝힐 수 있는 프로메테우스의 불을 찾을 길이 없다.
