우리들에게 RAIN이라는 조용한 노래로 유명한 이들은 HARD ROCK, PROGRESSIVE, HEAVY METAL 등 다소 요란한 음악을 즐겨하는 BAND이다. 영국 런던에서 70년에 창단되어 현재도 이름을 유지하는 장수 BAND인데 지금까지 30명 이상의 멤버가 거쳐갈 정도로 무수한 교체가 있어 처음과 지금의 BAND는 이름만 같고 내용은 전혀 다른 GROUP이다. 60년대에 DAVID BYRON과 MICK BOX는 17세 때부터 벌써 STALKERS란 BAND에서 음악 생활을 시작했고 SPICE라는 GROUP을 만들어 활동 중 70년 KEN HENSLEY 등 세 명의 멤버를 새로 영입하여 URIAH HEEP으로 밴드 명을 바꾸며 데뷔 ALBUM, VERY 'UMBLE VERY 'EAVY(미국에서는 URIAH HEEP이란 ALBUM명과 다른 JACKET 디자인을 사용하였음)을 발표하였으나 LED ZEPPELIN의 SOUND를 도용한 창의성 없는 BAND라는 혹평을 들었다. 2집 SALISBURY 역시 혹평 속에서 실패하였는데 71년 말에 발표한 LOOK AT YOURSELF부터는 평론가들의 호평 속에 미국, 영국에서 대중들의 인기를 얻어 75년 RETURN TO FANTASY 발표까지 전성기를 누리다 이후 점차 침체되어 갔다. 이 기간 중에는 계속된 멤버 교체가 이루어졌으며 이후부터 더욱 심하여 TEAM은 정체성을 잃고 방황하며 껍데기만 남은 BAND로 이름만 겨우 유지하게 되었다. 우리 나라에서는 70년대부터 꾸준히 이들의 팬이 현재까지 존재할 정도로 우리 취향에 비교적 잘 맞는 BAND이다.
지금 부르는 곡은 1989년 11월 29일 영국 노팅햄에서의 공연을 20th Anniversary 타이틀로 1990년에 VHS로 발표하였으며 우리에게 가장 잘 알려진 곡은 July Morning이란 곡으로 세계 메탈사에 손꼽을 만한 명곡이다.
