가수 장나라가 디지털 싱글 'If You Ask Me To'를 발매한다.

이 노래는 장나라가 지난 3월 25일 전아시아권에 발표한 아시아통합음반 [Dream of Asia]에 수록곡인 '신기루' 를 영어로 번안해 만든 팝 가스펠곡이다. '신기루'는 이미 한국어 외에도 중국어와 일본어로도 번안해 실린 노래다.

장나라는 6월 14일 내한했던 '신기루'의 작곡자이자 피아니스트로 미국 뉴욕에서 활동 중인 쉐드릭 미첼과 함께 'If you ask me to'를 녹음해 디지털 싱글로 이번에 발매하게 됐다. 장나라와 쉐드릭 미첼은 지난해 9월 아시아통합음반을 준비하던 중 인연을 맺었다. 쉐드릭 미첼은 장나라의 노래를 들은 뒤 흔쾌히 곡을 주기로 약속고, 올 1월 장나라가 작사한 곡에 쉐드릭 미첼이 직접 피아노 연주를 해 '신기루'가 탄생됐다. 드릭 미첼은 현재 미국 뉴욕에서 재즈 피아니스트이자 오르간 연주자. 팝 프로듀서로 왕성한 활동을 이어오고 있다. 그는 10세 때부터 가스펠 연주 경험을 바탕으로 피아니스트로 음악적 역량을 펼치고 있다.
