Jay-

[Mar 4, 2005 12:24 PM] waddup son...uget less comments den me...its funny how we‘re both losers...sheesh...we needaget more popular....n e ways...yea man korea is whack..but eveyone thinks i’mlike illest rapper wen i suck nuts at rappin...so dass pretty dope...haha peace

Translator-

(2005. 3.4 안녕, 나보다 쪽지 덜받는구나 우리 둘다 왕따네.

우리 둘다 인기 더 많아져야 되는데.

한국도 아직 좀 그래. 여기 사람들이 내가 랩을 되게 잘하는 줄 알아

사실은 잘 못하는데 뭐 아무튼 안녕.)

-Whack does not mean 그냥그래. Whack is slangfor crazy in a good way. Also the translator forgot to translate 'so dasspretty dope'. probably because they didn't know what 'dope' meant. So in casethey didn't know, by 'so dass pretty dope' Jay meant that he thought that whatkoreans thought of his rapping was pretty cool. Also the term 'illest' is aslang word for REALLY cool. Jay was trying to emphasize that.

[Feb 22, 2005 12:20 AM] wassup foo....haventalked to ur gay face in a while...watchu bin doin...watchu do now adays...still havin pissy fits boutchur rappin?.....korea is gay....i hatekoreans.....i wanna come back....like no other...friggin a....n e waysyea...hit me back jus to chat...ur biggest fan...this is jay the MAN...PEACE

(2005.2. 22 잘지내니 오래간만이야. 요즘 뭐하고 지내니, 아직도 랩하면서

혼자 화내고 있니. 한국의 내 상황이 너무 짜증나고

한국와서 사람들이 나한테 하는게 짜증난다.

다시 미국가고 싶다. 아무튼 다시 답장보내줘.)

-First off, you can see that Jaywants to go back to the states. I mean he was born and raised there, whowouldn't? If you guys as koreans were in the states wouldn't you miss your homecountry? In Jay's case, the U.S. is his home country. So when he says ,'koreais gay....i hate koreans.....i wanna come back....like no other...friggin a'  hedon't really mean it. Maybe you guys don't know how americans roll, cause thatphrase- ____ is gay. you're gay. he's gay. etc.- it doesn't necessarily meanwhat it means. If something is gay, all it means is that you don't approve ofit. In Jay's case, maybe he wasn't adjusting well to the korean life afterliving his whole life in the states. Give him a break. Gay does not mean '한국의 내 상황이 너무 짜증나고

한국와서 사람들이 나한테 하는게 짜증난다.' . It does not mean 짜증나.  짜증나 meansirritating and annoying. He never said koreans made him irritated. He just saidthat he didn't like koreans. Just a FYI but there are A LOT of korean americansraised in the states who despise their own nationality. They come to korea, seethe 'real' koreans and instantly hate them. It's not just Jay. You people don'tunderstand what it's like for a person born and raised in another country tocome back to their native country and try to adjust to it. It's not easy.

[Mar 20, 2005 9:24 AM] its not modelpics..u jus think i look like a model..thanx bro..u tol me u always checked meout..and u called me a hottie..but i never thought u would think i look like amodel...i‘m flattered....well yea man jessicas at my place...we’re engaged? ydo u ask...ne ways peace

(2005.3.20 모델 사진이 아니야. 니 생각에는 내가 모델같아 보인다는 거지.

니가 나보고 섹시하다고 했잖아. 하지만 난 내가 모델같다고 생각하지 않아.

암튼 고마워. 난 지금 제시카 알바와 함께 있어. 우리 약혼했어. 하하. 안녕.)

-'니가 나보고 섹시하다고 했잖아.' UH SORRY? in the original comment,is the word 'sexy' in there? NO. there isn't. I don't know where they got thisversion but its not. And he said,'but i never thought u would think i look likea model' which means he never would've though his friend to call him a model. '하지만 난 내가 모델같다고 생각하지 않아' this means thatJay never thought he looked like a model. NO. In the original comment he wasjust surprised to see that his friend had told him he looked like a model. Andat the end the translator wrote '우리 약혼했어. ' as a statement while Jay wrote itas a question, 'we're engaged?'. BIG DIFFERENCE. getyou're punctuation right too.

[May 22, 2007 6:24 PM] rain aint atour company n e more haha man this is gay my life sux big penis for u..twelfdollah

(2007.5.22 이제 비형은 더이상 우리 회사에 있지 않아.

이 상황이 정말 싫어. 내 인생이 정말 싫다.)

-Another FYI, when americans talkonline, the word 'haha' is like a period. you say something, you end it with ahaha its like a 'ㅋㅋ'  for koreans. SO when heinserted the haha, he ended the statement that rain didn't go to JYP anymore.end of rain story. And when he says 'this is gay my life sux' he's not talkingabout rain anymore so i don't know where '이상횡' came fromcause it has nothing to do with rain. Jay's just talking about his own life. And the direct translation for '내 인생이 정말 싫다.' is 'i hate my life.' NOT 'lifesux'.

[Jul 9, 2007 11:11 PM] u look like agay version of me if thats possible... go to melon and type in j bum or 한성별곡 i gotta song haha i mite quit and just go back to america...

(2007. 7. 9 너는 그냥 나의 짝퉁같아. 멜론에서 한성별곡 노래를 들을 수 있어.

나 포기하고 미국으로 갈수도 있어.)

- This translation is pretty correctbut i don't think  ' 짝퉁' is the best word for version. '짝퉁'means fake not 'another version.'And i don't get why this is so controversial. Jay just maybe had a hard timeand wanted to go back. Are humans not even allowed to suggest an alternative intimes of trouble?

[Aug 1, 2007 7:13 PM] i wanna comeback but iono shit... i dont even know whats goin on just practicing and livinlife day by day haha

(2007, 8, 1 나는 미국으로 돌아가고 싶어졌다.

지금 상황이 어떻게 되는 건지 잘 모르겠고 나는 그냥 연습만하고 지낸다.)

-'나는 미국으로 돌아가고 싶어졌다' means that all of a sudden hewanted to go back to the states. NO. He said, 'i wanna come back but ionoshit... ' which meant that he just wanted to go back. And when he meant by 'butiono shit' he meant that although he wanted to go back , he didn't know whetherhe would be allowed to go back. Also when he said,'i dont even know whats goinon just practicing and livin life day by day haha' he meant that he waspracticing and living his life so diligently that he didn't even know what wasgoing on. The 'haha' at the end meant that he ended the comment on a happynote, meaning that he didn't mean it in a serious tone.

Overall, this is what i think is trueabout what Jay had said. By the looks of Jay's writing, he was pretty gangsterand most gangsters use slang terms which have wayy different definitions thanthose definitions in the dictionary. I don't approve of the change in words andthe way his things were translated. By the looks of it, he wasn't evencondemning korea or koreans he was just saying random stuff to his friends. Imean he's human too, does he not have to right to talk about things to hisfriends just cause he's famous and we're not? I think thats really ignorant ofthose who think that way. And those people who actually went out of their wayto find his myspace and find all those comments seriously have no life.

But i'm not going to say anymore because I ALSO just spent10 minutes of my life writing this reply on what i think about the situation. Ithink you people so obsessed with what celebrities do should take a chill pilland just chillax for a bit.
