What do you do when you see a foreigner somewhere? 밖에서 외국인을 만나면 당신은 어떻게 행동하나요? My foreign friends tell me they are having some experiences. 저의 외국인 친구들이 그들의 경험을 얘기해주었습니다. On the streets, in the shops, wherever... 거리나 상점들 어디를 가거나... If they are the only foreigners, Korean people stare. 외국인들끼리 있으면 한국 사람들이 빤히 쳐다본대요. Well, they say they don't mind much about the staring but getting the look is another thing. 음, 친구들은 쳐다보는 건 이해가 되지만 이상한 표정을 짓는건 다르다네요. When I was in England, if I went to some place where had no asians, People might stare but they gave me a welcoming look. 제가 영국에 살때도 동양인이 없는 곳에 가면 사람들이 쳐다보긴 했지만 그들의 표정은 다정했어요. or at least 아니면 적어도 Just said 'hello' to me. 인사라도 했죠. Yes. You might want to look at people who look different to you. 네. 다르게 생긴 사람들을 보면 보게되요. And sometimes it might be even first time for you to see a foreigner for real. 어떤이들에게는 외국인을 실제로 보는것이 처음 일 수도 있고요. They understand. 그들은 이해합니다. But you can at least say 'hello' (maybe it's hard) 하지만 적어도 인사는 할수 있겠죠. Let's just smile~ 그냥 웃어주자구요~ Do you know how it feels to be stared at like a monkey at a zoo. 동물원에 있는 원숭이가 된 듯 사람들이 쳐다보는 기분을 아시나요? So be nice and give a little smile when you see a foreigner next time. 다음번에 외국인을 보면 작은 미소를 날려보아요. And I guess this goes to just among Korean people as well. 그리고 한국인사이에서도 마찬가지일 것 같네요.
