Looking back now,
the seasons that drifted by with you
were, in truth, a youth quietly pulsing
with a romance far beyond a fatal dose

whenever I looked at you,
I found myself wondering what kind of blossoming light existed beyond your gaze,
what brilliance, bearing a name unknown to me,
was coloring your world

Back then,
I was surrounded by light and yet failed to recognize it Perhaps the most dazzling things do not reveal themselves while we stand within them,
but only after passing through the long darkroom of time, where they are finally developed into clarity

Perhaps memories do not disappear at all
Perhaps they merely sink beyond sight,
changing their texture while remaining beside us
The delicate sensations engraved beyond memory
linger like silver halides absorbed into an aging film,
reflecting light for years from places no fingertips can ever reach
And the air of those days,
returning just when I am about to forget,
changes into the garments of another season
and opens sealed moments of time
with nothing more than the passing of a breeze

Looking back, we were never scattered points
We were coordinates quietly inclined toward one another
It was not that points connected and became a line
Rather, we had always existed upon the same line,
like stars destined, someday, to meet
And that line knew no end
It unfolded into a plane no velocity could ever overtake,
and the plane became a world of its own a world destined to bloom endlessly with laughter, wonder, and joy
