Well, as some of you know and some of you don't, Yuji and I are in the U.S. after quitting our jobs and leaving Tokyo, and before moving to Australia to live!
At the moment we are in San Diego and it is really beautiful. I would like to stay longer but unfortunately the budget doesn't allow!! So this afternoon we are getting a bus to Tijuana and then another bus to Chihuahua (get out your maps!!). No one seems to know how long it will take but we're betting on 10-20 hours!! Once there, we plan to take it easy for a couple of days, before taking the Copper Canyon Railway down to Los Mochis (on the coast!).
We arrived in the U.S. on Monday, stayed in LA for two nights and walked all over Hollywood, did Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills (Brad and Jennifer have a lovely house!!), Universal Studios and Santa Monica! yesterday we hired a convertible and drove down the coast via Venice Beach and Marina Del Ray! The sun actually came out after 2 days of patchy rain, so we finally got to take off our long sleeve tops and get some sun!! By the way, we are aware that we are doing all the typical touristy things, but we didn't actually request a convertible - they just gave us one!!
I have promised Mum that I will e-mail once a week (actually she threatened to call the embassy if I don't!!) so you can expect to hear from me once a week!! I really hope that they have internet cafes in Los Mochis!!! I will also try to get around to some personal e-mails soon!
Those of you in Japan, thanks for all coming out to say goodbye - we miss you already!
