Marisa Sannia는 1947년 지중해에서 시칠리아에 이어 두번째로 큰 섬인 Sardegna의 상업도시 칼리아리의 Iglesias 에서 태어난 그녀는 국내에서는 중년 이상의 세대라면 ‘Casa Bianca(하얀 집)’이란 칸초네 곡을 기억할 것이다. 바로 Don Backy의 원곡인 이 노래를 히트시켰던 주인공이 Marisa Sannia다.
이탈리아인들의 낙천적인 기질을 반영하듯, 대체로 밝고 아름다운 멜로디를 지닌
칸초네는 우리나라에서도 널리 사랑받았는데 Marisa Sannia는 밀바나 도미니크
모두뇨등 여타 칸초네 가수들에 비해서는 우리나라에 상대적으로 덜 알려지긴
했지만 칸초네와 동의어로 여겨지는 산레모 페스티벌을 통해 스타로 부각되었다.
1951년 시작된 산레모 페스티벌은 이탈리아를 대표하는 문화 상품으로까지
여겨졌는데 역대 산레모 가요제에서 우승했거나 입상했던 가수들은 그 자체가
이탈리아 인기 가수들의 계보를 의미한다고 할 정도였다.
이 산레모 페스티벌에서 입상한 그녀는 68년 돈 배키의 ‘Casa Bianca’ 를 주목을
