You find out that life is a game of inches!

인생은 1인치의 게임이란걸 알게 될거야.

So is football.

풋볼도 그래.

 

 

Because in either game --life or football--

The margin for error is so small.

인생이건 풋볼에서건 오차 범위는 매우 작아서

I mean, one half a step too late or too early and you don't quite make it,

one half second too slow, too fast and you don't quite catch it.

반 걸음만 늦거나 빨라도 성공할 수 없고

반 초만 늦거나 빨라도 잡을 수 없다.

 

The inches we need are everywhere around us!

They're in every break of the game, every minute, every second.

우리가 요구하는 그인치는 늘 우리주위에 있어!

경기 중에 생기는 기회마다, 매분, 매초마다 그래.

 

On this team we fight for that inch,

우리는 그 인치를 위해 싸워야 해!

On this team we tear ourselves and everyone else around us to pieces for that inch!!

우리는 그인치를 위해 우리몸을 부수기도 하고

남의 몸을 부수기도 해!

 

We claw with our fingernails for that inch!

그 인치를 위해 주먹을 움켜쥐어야 한다!

Because we know when we add up all those inches,

that's gonna make the fucking difference between winning and losing Between living and dying!

왜냐하면...그 인치들을 합치면 삶과 죽음의 갈림길에서

승패가 뒤바뀐다는 것을 우리는 알기 때문이다!

 

 

 

I can tell you this, in any fight,

어떤 싸움에서건

It's the guy who's willing to die who's going to win that inch.

죽을 각오가 돼 있는 사람만이 그 인치를 얻는다.

 

And I know if I"m gonna have any kind of life anymore,

내가 인생을 더 살려고 하는 것은

It's because I'm still willing to fight and die for that inch...

아직 그 인치를 위해 싸우고 죽을 각오가 돼 있기 때문이다.

that's what living is!
