         아빠, 저 뭘 할 건지 맘을 정했어요.

Todd: Good, What have you decided?

        잘했구나. 뭘 결정했니?

Derrick: Iwant to go tocollsge.

        저 대학에 갈래요.

Todd: What minde you change your minsd?

        왜 맘이 변 한거야?

Derrick: I realize that I need to go to college

to get a good job.

          좋은 직장을 얻으려면 대학에 가야한다는 걸 깨달았죠.

Todd: Are you ready to buckle down and s-tudy?

       마음 다잡고 공부에 달려들기로 한 거니?

Derrick: Yeah, I'm sure of it.

        네, 확실해요.

Todd: What turned you into a serious studentall of a sudden?

       갑작이 모범생이 된 이유가 뭐지?

Derrick: I finally realized how important it is.

       그게 얼마나 중요한가 드디어 깨달은 어ㅔ요.

Todd: I hope you still believe that when you're in college.

       네가 대학에 간 후에도 그렇게 믿기를 바란다.

 *make up (one's) mind: 결정하다, 마음을  먹다

"I hope she makes up her mind to marryJerry."

(그녀가 제리와 결혼하기로 맘을 정했으면좋겠네요.)

 *change (one's) mind: 마음을 바꾸다

"She changed her mind about going to the

movie."

(그녀는 영화보러 가려다 맘을 바꿌습니다.)

 *turn into:~으로 변모하다, 바꾸다

"Your daughter is turning into an adult."

(선생님 따님이 어른이 돼가는 군요)
