아무도 가지 않은 길(The Road Not Taken)

  Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth. 노랗게 단풍진 숲 속에 두 갈래 길이 있었네.
한꺼번에 두 길을 다 가지 못하기에
안타까워 오래도록 선 채로
덤불 속으로 굽어 들어 안 보이는 곳까지
한 쪽 길을 멀리 바라보았지


Then took the other, as just as fair
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear.
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same. 그리고 똑같이 아름다운,
어쩌면 더 나을지도 모르는다른 길을 선택했지.
그 길에는 풀이 더 있고 사람이 걸은 자취가 적어
사람의 발길을 기다리는 듯한 느낌이 들었네.


And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back. 그날 아침 두 길에는
낙엽을 밟은 자취는 없었지.
아! 나는 다음 날을 위하여 한 길을 남겨두었지.
길은 길로 이어지는 것이기에
다시 돌아오기 어려우리라는 것은 알고 있었지만.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference. 멀고먼 훗날 나는 어디서인가
한숨을 쉬며 이야기 할 것이다.
숲속에 두 갈래 길이 있었다고
나는 남들이 덜 다닌 길을 선택했다고
그로 인하여 오늘 이렇게 모두 달라졌다고.
