1999년 결성된 5인조 멜로딕 하드코어 락밴드 "테이킹 백 선데이"는 2001년 5개의 노래를 담은 데모 CD로 첫 등장 했다.
2002년 첫 정식 앨범 [Tell All Your Friends]는 빌보드 앨범차트 183위에 그쳤지만, 2004년 앨범 [Where You Want To Be]가 빌보드 앨범차트 3위에 오르며 스타덤에 올랐다.
