1) To slack off=땡땡이 치다
a) When you work, you have to work diligently~! Don't slack off!
2) To kick in=효과가 나타나다/약발이 들다
a) It will take at least about 20 minutes before your medicine kicks in!
3) My nose is running=콧물나다
4) Runny Nose/Stuffy Nose=콧물나다/코 막히다
a) I have a runny nose=My nose is running
b) I got a stuffy nose=My nose is stuffed up
5) To blow my nose=코풀다
a) If your nose is running, blow your nose!
b) if you have a runny/stuffy nose, blow your nose!
6) A day or two=하루 이틀
a) I need to buy a pen or two.
b) I want to meet a girl or two before getting married.
c) I need a person or two to clean this place.
7) To feel drowsy=졸립다/나른하다
a) Taking a cold medicine can make you feel drowsy!
8) To take a day off=하루 쉬다
a) You should take a day off from your work if you feel tired!
9) To call in sick=아파서 학교/직장에 결석/결근 한다고 알린다
a) I have a terrible headache! I can't work in this condition. I think i should call in sick!
10) Broke=돈이 떨어지다
a) Because I spent all my money on buying clothes, I'm now broke!
11) (something) to death=엄청 ~하다
a) I am tired to death
b) I am hungry to death
c) I love her to death
12) Sucks=정말 많은 의미를 가지고 있는 단어입니다. 뭐라 한마디로 딱 정의 할 수는
없지만 "부정적인" 생각등을 표현할 때 사용하는 단어입니다. 이러한 단어는 많이
접해 보는 방법밖에 없습니다.
a) This movie is no fun. In fact, this movie sucks!
b) It sucks that I don't have enough money to buy a nice car!
c) Paul's not good at any sports. In fact, he sucks at every sport!
d) I have two exams tomorrow! Sucks!
13) To drive someone to somewhere=~를 ~에 태워다 주다
a) I'll drive you to school.
14) Dough=cheese=money=돈
15) To blow up=터뜨리다/일내다/성공하다
a) Even though I am nobody right now, I know I will blow up someday!
16) One of these days=sooner or later=조만간
a) I don't have enough money to buy a nice car at the moment, but I'll surely
buy one one of these days!
