Midnight, not a sound from the pavement

has the moon lost her memory?

She is smiling alone.

In the lamplight,

The withered leaves collect at my feet,

and the wind begins to moan.

*pavement : a path with a hard surface, usually by the side

of a road.

*withered : thin and looks old.

*moan : If you moan, you make a low sound, usually because

you are unhappy or in pain.  

깊은 밤 거리에는  

고요함만이 감돌고

저 달은 지나간 추억을 잊어나요?

홀로 미소만 짓고 있어요.

가로등 불빛 아래

마른 잎새는 굴러와 내 발밑에 쌓이고

바람마저 흐느끼기 시작하네요.

 

 

Every street lamp

seems to be beat a fatalistic warning

someone mutters

and the street lamp gutters

and soon it will be morning

*fatalistic : there is no purpose in trying.

*mutter : you speak very quietly so that you cannot easily

be heard.

*gutter : gutter out

모든 가로등이 던지듯이 하네요,

운명의 경고를 말이죠

누군가는 중얼거리고

가로등은 깜박거리네요

이제 곧 아침이 오겠죠

 

 

Memory, All alone in the moonlight,

I can smile at  the old days.

I was beautiful then.

I remember

the time I knew what happiness was.

Let the memory live again.

달빛 아래 홀로

옛날을 생각하며 미소를 지어요

*stale: it is no longer fresh

또 다른 날이 밝아와요
