Mother nature makes good food. She also knows how to make her food attractive,

providing delicious fruits and vegetables of every color. 

These colors make life more beautiful and contain the secret of living along, healthy life.

 

Think of the wonderful bright colors of different fruits. 
Red fruits such as strawberries(딸기), guava(반석류), tomatoes(토마토), and watermelon(수박) contain a nutrient(영양소) called lycopene(리코펜). Scientists know that lycopene helps fight against heart disease(심장질환) and some forms of cancer(암). 


Yellow and orange fruits and vegetables such as mangoes(망고), peaches(복숭아),

carrots(당근), and pumpkins(호박) all contain plenty of B(beta)-carotene(베타카로틴). 
B-carotene is an important source of vitamin A in the diet. 
It can help maintain heart and vision(시력), and keep your immune system(면역체계) strong.  

  
  Looking around nature, it’s clear that Mother Nature’s favorite color is green. 

So it's no surprise that green vegetables are especially healthy!
  They contain carotenids(카로티니드), powerful nutrients that promote long-term health for many parts of the human body, including the eyes, lungs(폐), heart, and skin.

All green vegetables also contain strong *antioxidants(안티다이옥시드).

These have enormous health benefit,

such as better circulation(순환) and stronger bones and teeth.


   Finally, indigo blue and violet vegetables and fruits include blueberries, blackberries,

plums(자두), eggplant(가지), and purple cabbage(자주색 양배추). 
The coloring substance found in blue and purple foods is high in anti-cancer qualities(항암력).  They also strengthen tiny blood vessels(혈관), which can help swollen(부어오른) feet

or ankles(발목), speed up the healing of bruises(멍),

and promote healthy collagen(콜라겐) for fewer wrinkles(주름).


 Nutritionist(영양학자) recommend eating about 3-5 servings of vegetables each day and 2-4 servings of fruits.  So, fill your pockets with blueberries, cut up some watermelon,

and finish all the green vegetables on your plate. Your health will thank you for doing so!


*antioxidant: a substance in some foods that cleans the body and protects it from cancer
