There are as many nights as day,

Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness,

어느 정도 어두움이 있어야 행복한 삶도 존재한다.

and the word happy would lose its meaning

if it were not balanced by sadness.

행복에 상응하는 슬픔이 없다면 행복 역시 그 의미를 상실해 버리고 만다.
