이 어린아이 한 명이라도 업신여기지 마라.

내가 너희에게 말한다. 그들의 천사들이 하늘에 계신

내 아버지의 얼굴을 항상 뵙고 있다.

See that you do not look down on one of these

little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven

always see the face of my Father in heaven.

너희는 어떻게 생각하느냐? 만일 어떤 사람에게

백 마리의 양이 있는데 그 중에서 한 마리가

길을 잃었다면, 산에 아흔아홉 마리의 양을

남겨두고 길 잃은 그 양을 찾으러 가지 않겠느냐?

What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep,

and one of them wanders away, will he not leave

the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the

one that wandered off?

내가 진정으로 말한다. 만일 양을 찾게 되면, 길을

잃지 않은 아흔아홉 마리의 양보다 그 양 한 마리

때문에 더욱 기뻐할 것이다.

And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he is happier

about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine

that did not wander off.

마찬가지로 이 어린아이 중 하나라도 잃어버리는 것은,

하늘에 계신 너희 아버지의 뜻이 아니다.

In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing

that any of these little ones should be lost.
