Diaper Cake!
June 6th was the first birthday (돌잔치) of my friend's son.
I wanted to give a special gift,
so I decided to make a diaper cake.
I bought a pack of 60 diapers with four extra panty-typed diapers.
1. Take a diaper. ^^
2. Roll them tightly starting from the band side.
3. It would be so much easier if you have a helper.
I had to put them between my legs to keep them rolled.
4. I used 11 diapers for the top layer,
around 20 for the second layer,
and 33 for the last layer.
I didn't want to use blue ribbons just because the baby's a boy,
so I used purble ribbons.
Put them on top of each other.
5. I had bought a bib and a pair of socks.
I put them on the cake with some pretty clips I bought from daiso.
6. Then I put some ribbons around to make them pretty.
I had my friend write his Korean name on a paper
and made a label with a butterfly I took off from a pen. ^^
Here's how you make the ribbons.
a. Cross the ribbon like this.
b. Wrap it around with a thinner ribbon.
c. Tie the ribbon tight.
d. Cut the thin ribbon short on the back
and cut off the thick ribbon.
It's too easy.
7. I got some flower wrapping paper from a stationary store.
This is about two "ma" (두마).
Put the cake in the middle and gather the top from the side.
8. Tape the side into a neat corner.
9. Put a ribbon on top, and you're done!
My friend loved the cake!
I was the super star at the party (well, besides the baby).
It's so easy to make. Why don't you try? ^^
