Student are given a jumbled version of the poem ( either lines or verses) and asked to put it together again.

Jumbling up verses works particularly well for poems with a strong narrative, for example ballads.

Students decide which definitions of a particular word in the dictionary is the one that best fits the meaning of the word in the poem.
