Start with shot of main character arriving at Chungmuro Stn.

*Pan shot of subway passing by from left to right, moving with the direction of the train. Incoming train alert over intercom. Doors open and cut to busy feet walking out of subway. First shot of character is from the upper chest up, tall eye level shot of main character exiting. Loook left, then right, then put headphones in ears. Cut to 90' bust shot then start walking towards camera direction. Cut to pan shot of main character walking from the side with music playing (Let's Get Lost -Chet Baker)

(Starts black, hear train arrive, then cut to exit of train. It's a busy weekday in Seoul's metro line. Distant voices are reminiscent of a New York metro line, causing the foreign character to feel nostalgic.)

Cut to hitting card to exit station. (Jump cut, then another jump cut of outside subway exit as main character walks up.)


Cut to scene of hitting card in bus stop on way back from airport. 1st time meeting mother in 10 yrs. Nervous, but ready. Cut to scenes of outside Seoul from POV of bus passenger. Character is amazed in wonder. 
Flashback scene close up of baggage on bus then cut to bust shot of standing next to sitting old guy on bus, talking on phone. (응, 한국 잘 도착했어. 여기 미국 보다 덥네… 알아… 엄마 10년 동안 못 봤는데 좀 어색할 거 같아… 알겠어 집에 도착 해서 연락 할께. etc." Elderly man peers from corner of eye when English comes up in conversation starts. Before "집에가서" he gets off and without hesitation, character takes seat. Conversation ends then character looks out window, sees lights and fascinated by city of Seoul. Roll title.) 

Cut to scene of master shot of apartment building from outside, then entering Seoul house (after much frustration trying with passcode; back and forth from iPhone to trying passcode lock, not seeming to understand). Cut to shot of a note on fridge saying "Welcome, my son etc.". Camera still on note, character takes it off fridge. Cut to scene of character reading note, then tossing note onto counter. Close up of note.

Then cut to couple still shots of wide array of ramen. Pick 1, go to register and ask for cigarettes. Get asked for ID. Fumble, find passport. Store employee stares at pic then face inquisitively. Close up of passport as he holds up to characters face. close up of pic, then pulls down to reveal face of character. Asks "Is this really you?

Cut to scene of plastic bag and packing cigarettes.

In the dark, hear character cursing at passcode lock.

Put plastic bag on counter. Take out ramen. Set up ramen with close up jump cuts (see Requiem for a Dream, set up jump cuts at 60fps for fast action). Set ramen on counter and stare with chin on table, bored. Look at iPhone for time. Jump cut montage of push-ups, sit-ups, shadow boxing. Look at time. Just 1 minute past.

Next scene, REAL clock is 4 minutes past. rip off lid and begin to eat.

Cut to scene of sitting on couch behind empty ramen cup. Flipping through crazy Korean channels on TV (like Bill Murray from Lost in Translation). See Lost in Translation on TV and decide to watch. Cut to SJ and BM embracing in final scene, holding pillow close to chest at the end up film, very affected by film.

Hop on computer (from POV of computer, wearing glasses) on naver.com. Search for film schools and find 독립영화학원 (inde1990.cyworld.com). Decide to go. Look of determination on face. (camera shows reflection of computer scrolling in glasses with close up of eyes)

Cuts to present, bust shot of character in elevator. (*if flashbacks are in b&w, this is where when the doors open, picture can come into color.)
Exits, then goes to 1st seminar. Cut to POV of door. Character takes deep breath, then reaches for door. Back shot of character entering, people inside greet him.

End scene: Sigur Ros "Inni mer" builds up, screen goes black then beat drops. Title comes back on with the beat and roll credits.
