오늘(5일) 오전 7시 40분쯤 서울 세종문화회관 세종홀에서 열린 민족화해협력범국민협의회주최 조찬 강연회 장소로 들어가던 중 김기종씨로부터 얼굴 부위를 공격당했습니다.
김기종씨는 면도칼을 휘둘러 리퍼트 대사의 오른쪽 얼굴과 왼쪽 손목을 그은 것으로 전해졌는데요,목격자들은 리퍼트 대사 오른쪽 뒤쪽 테이블에 있던 김기종씨가 갑자기 다가와 리퍼트 대사를밀어 눕히고 여러 차례 공격했다고 전했습니다.
한편 리퍼트 대사를 흉기로 습격한 김기종씨는 최근 한미연합훈련 '키리졸브 연습'과 '독수리 훈련'을 비판하는 글을 올리는 등 평소 반미운동과 발언을 해온 인물로 알려져있습니다.
