JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE and CAMERON DIAZ are to marry, after the pop superstar proposed.

The JUSTIFIED singer, 23, asked Diaz, 31, to become his bride after first checking asking for her parents' blessing.

And honourable Timberlake even checked if it was the right thing to do with his own mother.

But, wary of the media frenzy that surrounded JENNIFER LOPEZ and BEN AFFLECK's cancelled wedding last year (03), the couple have opted for a quiet, private ceremony.

An insider says, "It (the wedding) will be more like that of GWYNETH PALTROW and CHRIS MARTIN - nice and discreet.

"Cameron is absolutely thrilled about the engagement. They are both very much in love."
