1. 명칭
- 국문 : 전통복식 디자인 전공
- 영문 : Korean Traditional Costume Design
2. 전통복식 디자인 전공목표
전통 복식은 우리 문화에 기초한 것으로 전통이 곧 미래라는 개념은 복식의 세계화에 필요한 가장 기초적이고도 근본적인 자원이다. 더구나 전통복식을 이용한 디자인 개발과 이를 바탕으로 한 우리만의 독특한 디자인을 뽑아 낼 수 있다. 더구나 전통 복식은 디자인 개발에만 중요한 것이 아니라 이의 재현 및 보존을 통해 현재에 맞도록 재해석함은 물론 이를 바탕으로 미래의 디자인까지도 제시할 수 있는 것이다. 전통복식은 우리말과 같이 우리나라를 알리는 기본 문화코드로, 본 전공에서는 이러한 시대적 요구를 충족시킬 수 있는 디자인, 고증, 보존과정을 개설하고 있다. 그 교육 내용은 전통복식의 제작 및 재현, 보존처리, 디자인 개발로 이루어져 무대의상디자인은 물론 전통복식의 재현, 복식 유물의 보존 및 보관 등의 실무 능력을 함양케 하여 전통복식의 현대화에 앞장설 수 있는 전문인 양성함을 목표로 한다.
3. 교육과정
- 구성방향 : 디자인 대학원에 전통복식 디자인 전공 분야를 신설하는 것이다.
- 디자인대학원의 교육목표와 연계한 학과교육과정배경 : 디자인 대학원은 패션디자인, 패션마케팅, 텍스타일디자인, 시각정보디자인, 실내환경디자인, 멀티테라피, 뷰티디자인, 광고영상디자인 전공의 교육과정이 있다.
전통복식 디자인 전공이 추가 신설되면 패션디자인, 패션 마케팅, 텍스타일 디자인, 뷰티디자인, 광고영상디자인 등 다른 모든 전공분야와 연계하여 학문적 연구의 시너지 효과를 발휘할 수 있으며 디자인 대학원의 교육목표인 실무적 창의성을 갖춘 전통복식 분야의 디자인 전문 인력을 양성할 수 있다.

이론 1 : 한국복식연구 (Study of Korean Costume)
한국 복식의 문화적, 사회적, 역사적인 배경을 시대적으로 연구하고, 현재까지의 변화 과정을 통해 전반적인 한국복식의 개념과 특성을 연구.
Theory 1 : Korean Costume Study
Study the history of Korean costume on the cultural, social and historic background and the concept and features of Korean costume on the basis of the changes up to now.
이론 2 : 동양복식연구 (Study of Asian Costume)
근동에서 극동에 이르는 동양 복식에 관한 제 문화를 선정하여 한국 복식과 이들 복식 문화와의 연관성을 연구함으로써 한국 복식의 특성을 보다 깊이 이해하고 동양복식에서의 그 의미와 역할을 이해할 수 있도록 함.
Theory 2 : Study of Asian Costume Study
Select and study the cultures on oriental costume from the Near Asia to the Far East Asia and the relationship between Korean costume and the Asian costume to help students to more deeply understand the features of Korean costume and its meaning and roles in the oriental costume.
이론 3 : 한국복식사 특론 (Special Topic in the History of Korean Costume)
문헌 자료와 유물 자료를 통해 한국 복식의 변천 과정을 연구하고, 각 시대별 특성 및 사회 구조에 따라 변화한 한국 복식의 특징 연구.
Theory 3 : Special Topic on the History of Korean Costume)
Study the change history of Korean costume using literature and relics and the features of Korean costume that has been changed according to the social structures by times.
이론 4 : 세계복식연구 (Study of World Costume)
세계 각국의 복식 특징을 파악함으로써 한국 복식 디자인의 현대화 및 다양화에 응용.
Theory 4 : World Costume Study
Identify the features of costume in each country in the world and thus apply them to the modernization and diversification of Korean costume design.
이론 5 : 민속의상연구 (Study of National & Ethnic Costume Costume)
세계 각국의 고유 전통 복식 문화의 특성을 시대, 사회적 배경과 관련지어 고찰하여 그 의미를 연구.
Theory 5 : National & Ethnic Costume Study
Study the meaning of cultural features of unique traditional costume of each country in the world in relation to the social and historical background.
이론 6 : 직물연구 (Study of Textile)
한국 전통 복식의 다양한 직물의 직조 및 역사적인 변천을 연구하여 전통 복식의 소재 개발 및 현대화에 응용.
Theory 6 : Textile Study
Study various textiles of Korean traditional costume and the change history of those textiles and apply them to the modernization and development of materials for Korean traditional costume.
이론 7 : 복식과 문화 (Costume and Culture)
복식에 영향을 미치는 문화적인 배경을 자연, 도덕, 관습, 종교, 예술, 사회구조 등의 측면에서 연구함으로써 전통 복식의 세계화에 응용할 수 있는 이론적 배경을 배양.
Theory 7 : Costume and Culture
Study the cultural background influencing on the costume in the aspects of nature, morals, custom, religion, arts and social structure and so cultivate the theoretical background that can be applied to the globalization of Korean traditional costume.
실기 1 : 기초침선연구 (Traditional Sewing Lesson)
쟁치기를 비롯한 전통 기초 바느질 및 이를 응용한 실습.
Practice 1 : Traditional Sewing Lesson
Basic traditional sewing lesson including Jaenchigi(a kind of sewing method) and applications.
실기 2 : 조선시대 복식 연구Ⅰ, Ⅱ(Reproduction of Chosun Dynasty Traditional Costume Ⅰ, Ⅱ)
14세기에서 18세기의 복식 유물을 근거로, 전통복식을 재현, 제작할 수 있는 능력 함양함으로써 복식 유물의 재현할 수 있는 기술 배양.
Practice 2 : Reproduction of Joseon Dynasty Traditional Costume Ⅰ, Ⅱ
Cultivate the skills to reproduce the costume relics by developing the ability to reproduce the traditional costume on the basis of the costume relics from the 14th century to the 18th century.
실기 3 : 복식유물 보존 처리Ⅰ, Ⅱ (Conservation of CostumeⅠ, Ⅱ)
출토된 유물복식은 물론 전세되고 있는 복식유물의 보존 처리 기법 교육과 복식 유물 보존 처리의 심도 있는 교육을 통해 보존처리 기술 배양.
Practice 3 : Conservation of CostumeⅠ, Ⅱ
Cultivate the conservation techniques through the in-depth education on the conservation techniques for the inherited costume relics as well as excavated costume relics.
실기 4 : 복식유물 다루기 Handling the Textile Object
복식유물을 어떻게 다루는지에 대해 이론과 실습을 통해 최적상태에서 복식유물을 최상으로 보완하여 보존의 효과를 최대화 할 수 있는 방법을 연구.
Practice 4 : Handling the Textile Object
Study the methods to maximize the effect of conservation by supplementing the textile object to the optimum status through the theory study and practice on how to handle the textile object.
실기 5 : 복식전시 및 디스플레이 연구 Research on the Exhibition and Display of the Textile Object
각 시대마다 다른 복식의 특성을 최대한 살릴 수 있는 전시 기법 연구와 이들 전시물의 Supporting Form제작에 대한 연구.
Practice 5 : Research on the Exhibition and Display of the Textile Object
Study the exhibition techniques to maximize the features of costumes from each era and supporting form production for exhibits.
실기 6 : 전통복식문화 콘텐츠 연구 Research on Traditional Textile Culture
전통복식과 관련된 문화상품을 연구 개발하고 이를 바탕으로 한 콘텐츠 개발 응용.
Practice 6 : Research on Traditional Textile Culture
Study and develop the cultural goods related to the traditional costume and develop and apply the contents based on the study.
실기 7 : 창작 전통 복식디자인 워크샵 Workshop on Creative Designs of Traditional Costume
전통복식을 주제로 미래의 전통복식에 대한 디자인 개발과 창작 전통 공연물 등의 디자인 제공을 할 수 있는 기술 배양.
Practice 7 : Workshop on Creative Designs of Traditional Costume
Cultivate the skills to supply the design for creative traditional performances and develop the future design for traditional costume.
실기 8 : 전통복식과 체형연구 Korean Traditional Costume and Physical Figure Study
한국인 체형변화와 전통복식과의 관계를 고찰하고 복식을 위한 체형학의 이론과 실기를 겸비 한 강의를 주목적으로 한다.
Practice 8 : Korean Traditional Costume and Physical Figure Study
Study the relation between the physical figure change of Koreans and traditional costume through the theory study and practice on the human physique for costume.
실기 9 : 전통 염색 연구 Study on the Traditional Dyeing
우리의 전통 색상에 대한 이해를 위해 천연염색 실습 및 이론적 연구를 통해 전통색을 현대화할 수 있는 실습.
Practice 9 : Traditional Dyeing Study
Practice the modernization of traditional colors through the theoretic study and practice on the natural dyeing for understanding the traditional colors of Korea.
실기 10 : 한국 전통 문양 개발 Development of Korean Traditional Designs and Symbols
전통 복식에 나타난 다양한 문양 뿐 아니라 다양한 유물에 남아 있는 문양을 적극적으로 개발, 현대화할 수 있게 연구 개발.
Practice 10 : Development of Korean Traditional Designs and Symbols
Develop and study the designs and symbols on various object as well as traditional costume for modernization.
실기 11 : 한국복식 패턴연구 Study on Patterns of the Korean Costume
전세되는 복식유물의 패턴 개발과 현재 우리 체형에 맞는 한복 패턴을 연구 개발.
Practice 11 : Korean Costume Pattern Study
Study and develop the Korean costume patterns to fit to the present physical figure of Koreans and patterns of inherited object.
실기 12 : 시대극 의상 연구 Study on the Costume Design in the Korean Costume Drama
시대극의 고증 의상 디자인 연구와 창작 시대극에 맞는 복식에 대한 연구 개발.
Practice 12 : Study on the Costume Design in the Korean Costume Drama
Study and develop the costume for the creative historical plays and investigate and design costume for those plays.
