[Nokia] 8800 Sirocco Brian Eno Signature Edition
The Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition mobile phone is named after a regal wind that forms in the Sahara and blows across the Mediterranean region. The Sirocco arises from a warm, tropical air mass that collides with the cooler, wetter air of the Mediterranean. The resulting airstream hurtles across the southern coasts of Europe, sprinkling the ancient dust of Africa as it falls. As with the Sirocco wind, the Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition consists of two variants light and dark. Light inspired by the hot, dry airmass of the desert, the dark by the cooler, wetter air found at sea. Innately sensual and contemporary in design, both variants of the Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition embody the perfect intrinsic forms within nature yet also seem as if they have just appeared from within it -carried perhaps on the back of the Sirocco wind.
As it blows, the Sirocco makes its own unique sound, caused by different pressures colliding. Inspired by this, ambient composer and sonic innovator, Brian Eno, has created a unique soundtrack, an audio accompaniment that blend and accord with the sounds of nature.
Contrasts continue though, with stainless steel is treated in such a way to give the Sirocco a unique human feel.
