오늘은 짧게 이디엄 "To drop someone a line"과 "For ages"를 가지고 공부해 보겠습니다. 원래는 이디엄을 따로 다루는 페이퍼를 내려고 했는데 제가 좀 게을러서 이번엔 그냥 이렇게 여기다 발행하게 됐습니다. 녹음 내용도 올렸으니 들으시면서 공부하세요~^^ 아, 그리고 "I don't~" 문장 만들기 페이퍼도 내용 녹음해서 올렸습니다. ^^

I) Drop someone a line=write to someone=(이메일)을 쓰다/보내다/남기다
Situation 1
A: Hey, Phil, how's Paul? I haven't talked to him forever.
야, 필, 폴 잘 지내냐? 폴이랑 정말 오랫동안 얘기 안해봤네...
B: Just same old same old.
걔야 항상 똑 같지 뭐...
A: Does he check his emails on a regular basis?
폴은 이멜은 자주(주기적으로) 체크하냐?
B: I think he does.
그럴껄
A: Well, why don't you ask him to drop me a line, then?
그럼 나 한테 멜 좀 보내라고 해
B: Does he have your email address?
네 멜 주소 가지고 있어?
A: I'm pretty sure he does.

Situation 2
A: How's your sister doing in New York?
네 여동생은 뉴욕에서 잘 지낸데?
B: I don't know, but the last time I talked to her, she was doing great.
모르겠다. 전번에 얘기 했을 땐 잘 지내고 있다고 하던데.
A: What was the last time you talked to her?
맨 마지막으로 얘기한게 언젠데?
B: It's been like a month or two.
한 두달 됐어
A: Been a while, huh?
꽤 됐네. 그치?
B: Yah...But she doesn't have a cellphone, so it's kinda hard for me to keep in touch with her,
you know?
그런거 같다. 동생이 핸펀이 없거던, 그래서 연락하기가 힘들다.
A: Do you have her address in New York?
뉴욕 주소 가지고 있어?
B: Yea, I do
응
A: Then drop her a line and ask her how she's doing there.
그럼 편지써서 잘 지내는지 물어봐
B: Guess I should.

Useful Vocabs
1) Pretty Sure
확신을 나타내는 표현으로 "I'm sure" 만큼 강한 100%의 확신을 나타내지는 않지만 그래도 "꾀 확신"한다는 뜻으로 "Pretty Sure"가 사용됩니다. Almost(거의) 보다 조금 약한 표현입니다.
ex) I'm pretty good at singing.
난 노래를 꾀 잘한다.
2) To keep in touch with someone=~와 연락하다
ex) We should keep in touch with each other=우리 서로 연락 하면서 지내자
