락 초보자들도 쉽게 빠져들수 있게 첫인상이 좋코 시원한 록의 체취에 솔의 향기를 얹은 보컬 애덤 리바인의 목소리가 매력적이다.
5년 만의 스튜디오 앨범인 ‘It Won’t Be Soon Before Long’이 오는 22일 발매된다. 리바인은 새 앨범에 대해 “더욱 섹시하고 더욱 강해질 것”이라고 공언한 바 있다. 지난 3월 발표돼 현재 빌보드 정상에 자리 잡은 첫 싱글 ‘Makes Me Wonder’는 이들의 전매특허인 펑키하면서 세련된 음악에 적정량의 전자음까지 끼어들어 중독성을 더하는 곡.
매력적인 목소리를 지닌 애덤 리바인은 테니스 스타 마리야 샤라포바, 팝가수 제시카 심슨과 잇달아 염문을 뿌리기도 했다. 1990년대 후반 결성된 이들은 뒤늦은 성공에 힘입어 2005년에야 그래미 최우수신인상을 받았다.
