Brentwood라는 쿼터재즈 밴드가 있다.

대학다닐때 정말 우연히 들었던 "What a Friend we have in Jesus"라는 곡

그 곡이 처음엔 찬송가인지도 모르고, 어디선가 많이 들어본 친숙한 멜로디라고 생각했다. 알고보니 죄짐맡은 우리 구주!--;

송영주라는 재즈 피아니스트도 이 Brentwood의 앨범을 듣고, 그런 음반을 내고 싶어 했다고 한다. 그리고 시간이 흘러 마침내 나오게 된 이 앨범!

그래서 이 앨범 "Jazz Meets Hymn"을 처음 들었을 때 왠지 Brentwood가 그리 생각났던가 보다.

 

이 앨범은 미국에서는 Cool Sprins Records라는 CCM레이블에서 발매가 되었다고 한다. 그러나~지금 나오고 있는 All of My Journey는 한국에 발매된 앨범에만 들어있는 보너스 트랙이란다. 그리고 송영주의 자작곡이란다.

다른 곡들도 한번 앨범을 구해서 들어보길 바란다!

결코 후회하지 않으리.

 

흠~멜로디도 좋고, 가사 또한 감동적인...!

이 곡을 내 홈피를 찾는 사람들에게 들려주고 싶었다.
