Two roads diverged in a yellow wood

노란 숲속에 두 갈래 길이 있었지 
나는 양쪽 모두를 갈 수는 없었지 
오랫동안 서서 곰곰이 생각했지 
한쪽 길을 멀리까지 바라보았지 
그 길이 덤불 속에서 굽어져 있는 곳까지 

그러다가 똑같이 좋은 다른 길을 택했지 
어쩌면 더 나은 것도 같았지 
풀이 더 많았고 발길을 기다리는 듯싶었기에 
그 길도 다른 길처럼 
비슷하게 닳아 있었긴 했지만 

그 날 아침 그 두 길 모두 
아무도 밟지 않은 나뭇잎들에 덮여 있었지 
오, 나는 하나는 다음날을 위해 남겨 두었지! 
하지만 길은 길에 연하여 끝없으므로

다시 돌아올 수 있으리라고는생각하지 않았지 

한숨을 지며 이 얘기를 할 수밖에 
수많은 세월이 흐르고 흐른 후에
숲속에 두 갈래 길이 있었노라고 그리고 나는
사람들이 덜 간 길을 택했노라고 
그리고 그것이 내 운명을 정했노라고
