옛 영국에선 아이들이 태어난 요일로 아이들의 운명을 미리 점 처보곤 했다 한다. 이 라임은 조금씩 다른 버전이 여럿 있는데, 대체로 안식일, 즉 일요일에 태어난 아이는 가장 사랑을 받고 목요일에 태어난 아이는 도벽이 있거나 슬프게 산다고 노래한다.
