오늘도 역시 인터뷰 준비에 열심히 구글질을 하려고 www.google.com을 주소창에 쳤는데,
사뭇 다른 Google Logo로 치장해 있었다.
(검색창에 테헤란로는 왜 이름이 테헤란일까 싶어서 쳐봤더니, 70년대 중동사업을 시작하면서 우호적인 제스쳐로 그렇게 된거라고한다)
뭐, 잡 검색은 제쳐두고
구글로고를 눌러보았다
그러니
MARC CHAGALL (마크 샤갈) 이라는 예술가의 대한 검색페이지로 넘어갔다.
간단한 검색에 의하면 오늘이 7월7일이 생일이란다.
이미 85년도 세상을 떠났지만,
얼마나 대단한 예술가이기에, google에서 main page를 내줄까, 하는
궁금증 증폭.
더 알아보기로 했다
그래서 !! 검색을 해보았더니 나와같이 구글메인을 보고 궁금해하신 분이 많이 있었다.
처음 두페이지엔 많은 블로그에서
국내에서는 벌써 2004년 7월 '마크샤갈' 전시회가 열렸었고, 많은 사람들의 사랑을 받고 막을 내렸다고 한다.
이에 홍보 책자엔 이렇게 그 분을 소개하고 있다.
' 러시아 태생의 프랑스 작가 마크 샤갈(1887-1985)은 전 세계 대중의 사랑을 가장 많이 받는 화가이자 미술사의 독특한 위치를 지닌 작가이다. 98세의 오랜 삶을 통해 동심으로부터 무용과 꿈, 그리고 성경의 세계에 이르기까지 수많은 작품을 현란한 색채와 형상으로 독특한 회화세계를 구축한 그는 피카소의 표현을 빌자면 "마티스와 더불어 20세기의 가장 뛰어난 색채화가"로 여겨지고 있다.'
음... 마티스는 또 누구인가! (너무 무지한 내 자신을 발견한다. 좀 교양을 쌓자ㅋ)

On July 7, 2008 Google remade their logo using his artwork, in honor of what would have been Chagall's 121st birthday. This customized version of the logo was submitted to and granted approval by the Artists Rights Society clashed with Google when they asked Google to remove customised versions of its logo put up to commemorate artists Salvador Dalí and Joan Miró, alleging that portions of specific artworks under their protection had been used in the logos, and that they were used without permission.
