"Torn" is a song composed by the rock band Creed. It is from their 1997 album My Own Prison. It is a misconception that after lead singer Scott Stapp was expelled from a Christian school, he was living in an apartment with hardly anything at all, and that he just wrote his thoughts down on a piece of paper, which became the basis for this song. It has been revealed by Michael Tremonti, Mark Tremonti's brother, that this song was actually written entirely by Mark.
