문법해설
아래의 다섯 문장을 보고 그 의미의 차를 비교해 보자.
(1) I'll get hungry. (배가 고파질 거야.)
(2) I'm getting hungry. (배가 고파진다.)
(3) I'm hungry. (배가 고프다.)
(4) I was hungry. (배가 고팠었다.)
(5) I got hungry. (배가 고파졌다.)
위 문장에서 get의 의미는 (어떤 상태의 변화)를 의미하는 become의 뜻이다.
(3)은 (2)의 뒤에 일어난 상태를 정적으로 표현한 것이다.
310. 나는 피곤해졌어. 힌트: (피곤해지다) get tired
> I'm getting tired.
311. 시원해졌어.
> It's getting cool.

특정한 것이 어떤 장소에 있었던 것을 언급할 때 be 동사의 과거형 was, were를 사용한다.
