A guide for the perplexed graduate student
1. Your vacation begins after you defend your thesis.
졸업 논문을 마친 후에 휴가가 시작됩니다. (오래 쉬지 마세요)
2. In research, what matters is what is right, and not who is right. 연구에 있어 무엇이 맞느냐가 중요하지 누가 맞느냐?중요하지 않습니다. (동료를 시기하지 마세요)
3. In research and other matters, your adviser is always right, most of the time.연구와 그 외의 문제에 있어 지도교수가 맞습니다. (지도교수를 존중하세요)
4. Act as if your adviser is always right, almost all the time. 아닐지라도 거의 대부분 시간을 지도교수가 항상 맞는 것 처럼 행동하세요. (지도교수에게 덤비지 마세요)
5. If you think you are right and you are able to convince your adviser, your adviser will be very happy. 당신이 맞다고 생각하고 지도교수에게 자신의 의견을 확신시킬 수 있다면, 당신 지도교수는 매우 행복할 겁니다.(지도교수는 당신으로부터 배우고 싶어합니다.)

15. The higher the quality, first, and quantity, second, of your publishable work, the better your thesis. 무엇보다도 질이 우수하고 그 다음으로 많은 양의 논문을 써야 당신의 졸업논문은 빛을 발합니다. (훌륭한 저널에 많은 논문을 내도록 실험하세요)
16. Remember, it's your thesis. You (!) need to do it. 명심하세요, 당신의 졸업논문이예요, 당신은 해야만 해요 (졸업논문은 오로지 당신에게 달려 있습니다.)
