Malir, Lyari는 주로 버스운전사, 차장, 야간경비 노동자, 내륙의 노동자, 군인,
경찰,하급관리, 삼류 자영업자 등 저소득층 호모들이 모이는 곳이다.
많은 남창들은 자기 거주지로 손님을 데리고 가는 대신 호텔방을 예약해서
매춘을 한다. 자기 집에서는 폭행과 강도를 당하기 쉽기 때문이다. 어떤 남창들은
손님 차의 뒷자석에서 섹스를 한다. 부업으로 남창을 하는 학생 장사꾼,호텔과 주
주차장 노동자들이 있다. 돈을 더 벌기 위해 그 일을 하기도 하지만 종종
영화산업(포르노?)에서 일을 얻기 위해서 한다. 해외의 일자리를 얻기 위한 경비를

쌍방이 합의한 성적 관계는 1979년 이전 파퀴스탄에서는 범죄가 아니었다.
미성년자가 관련된 매춘만을 법으로 금지했다.후에 Zina 법령이 제정되었고, 혼외성
관계가 금지되었다.
1950년대에 대법원령으로 무희가 예술가로서 합법화되었고, 무희들은 저녁에
3시간동안 공연을 할 수 있다.

Male and gay prostitution is increasing in Pakistan, though gay
prostitution is not a recent phenomenon in the country. British
explorer Richard Francis Burton, who visited the Sindh
region long before the British conquest, doc-umented a brothel of boy
prostitutes in Karachi. Today many areas of large cities in the country
have become virtual red-light districts for gay sex.[12] Male prostitutes operate their business in every city and major town in Pakistan.[13] Clients of male prostitutes come from every class, age group and profession.[12] Homosexual
men belonging to the upper and middle classes frequently pick up male
prostitutes from video game shops, restaurants and cold-drinks spots.
Young male prostitutes generally find customers in places like dark
alleys, crowded bus stops, shopping centres, cinemas, hotel lobbies,
parks, railway stations, hospitals, school compounds, elevators of
public buildings etc. Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Sabzi Mandi, Kharadar, Lea Market, Landhi, Malir, and Lyari
in Karachi are places visited by homosexuals from lower income groups.
Clients in these areas primarily consist of bus drivers and conductors,
night watchmen, labourers from upcountry, army personnel, policemen,
low-income government officials, small-time businesspersons etc.[13]
Many male prostitutes offer services at hotel rooms booked for the
purpose instead of the client's residence. This is because while
accompanying a client to his residence prostitutes become vulnerable to
assault or robbery. Some prostitutes have sex with clients in the back
seat of the client's car.[13]
There are many part-time prostitutes who are students, salespersons,
workers in hotels and garages. They become involved in the profession
to earn extra money, and often to get a job in the film industry.[14] Some involved in prostitution often manage to save enough money to go abroad in search of a job.[15]
Many boys are frequently used by the police without getting paid.
Plainclothes police officers are often involved in the extortion and
blackmail of male prostitutes.[15][16]
Male prostitutes in the country generally range from fifteen to
twenty-five years of age. However, a few prostitutes are in their early
thirties and some are as young as thirteen. Like their clients, male
prostitutes have varying ethnic backgrounds. They come from all four
provinces of Pakistan, and often from foreign countries like Afghanistan and Iran. A large number of Iranian and Afghan refugee youths have become involved in prostitution in Quetta, Peshawar and Karachi. The majority of male prostitutes have little or no education, however some are graduates.[14] An average male prostitute in Pakistan earns approximately 5,000 to 7,000 rupees per month.[17] However those who have clients among foreign tourists earn much more.[15]

Prostitution has no legal recognition in Pakistan. Moreover despite
growth of male prostitution and gay prostitution, homosexuality is
outlawed in the nation. Under Section 377 of the Pakistan Penal Code,
whoever voluntarily has "carnal intercourse against the order of nature
with any man, woman or animal" shall be punished by 100 lashes and from
2 years to life imprisonment.[18][19][20]
While arrests are not common for homosexuality, the law is used as a
tool to blackmail. Police frequently take money or sex from people they
know to be involved in commercial or non-commercial homosexual
relationship.[20]
Pakistani law is greatly influenced by the Penal Code drawn up by the
British in 1892. This remains a major element of the current Pakistani
law.[21]
Sexual relations between two consenting adults was not a crime in
Pakistan before 1979. nullly the involvement of minors in prostitution
was prohibited by law.[21] Later the Zina Ordinance was enacted and extramarital sex became a criminal offence.[23]
In the 1950s, "dancing-girls" were legitimized as "artists" in a
High Court order. Thus they were permitted to perform for three hours

date. Other carnal activities, red-light districts and brothels remain

서남아시아의 이슬람 국가 출신 변호사 57살 A 씨는 14년 전인 지난 1996년 우리나라에 들어 왔습니다.
A씨는 동성애를 금기시해 최고 사형까지 내릴 수 있는 자국법 때문에 동성애자로서 정상적인 생활을 할 수 없었다고 주장합니다.
[A 씨/이슬람 국가 출신 난민 : 살면서 내내 비참하고, 힘들었어요. 모든 사람들이 날 괴롭혔고, 심지어 죽이려고도 했어요.]
A씨는 지난해 1월 불법체류자 단속에 적발되자 우리 정부에 난민 신청을 했지만 거부당했습니다.
본국으로 강제송환될 위기에 처한 A 씨는 결국 소송을 냈고, 재판부는 심리끝에 A 씨의 손을 들어줬습니다.
재판부는 A씨의 본국에서 동성애자를 최고 사형으로 처벌하는 등 엄격히 금지하는 하는 만큼 A씨가 동성애자라는 이유로 본국에서 박해를 받을 가능성이 크다고 밝혔습니다.

국내에서 동성애를 이유로 난민을 인정한 건 이번이 처음입니다.
이에 대해 법무부는 A 씨가 고국으로 추방돼도 당장 박해를 받을 가능성이 낮아 난민으로 인정하지 않았던 것이라며 항소할 뜻을 밝혔습니다.

서울행정법원 행정13부(재판장 정형식 부장판사)는 파키스탄 국적 G씨가 법무부장관을 상대로 낸 소송에서 “난민인정을 불허한 처분을 취소하라”며 원고 승소 판결했다고 3일 밝혔다.
G씨는 지난 1996년 파키스탄을 떠나 국내에 입국, 10년 넘게 불법체류자로 지내다가 지난해 1월 단속반에 적발돼 경기 화성보호소에 수용됐다.
