내 아들아 나의 법을 잊어버리지 말고 네 마음으로 나의 명령을 지키라

그리하면 그것이 너로 장수하여 많은 해를 누리게 하며 평강을 더하게 하리라

인자와 진리로 네게서 떠나지 않게 하고 그것을 네 목에 매며 네 마음판에 새기라

그리하면 네가 하나님과 사람 앞에 은총과 귀중히 여김을 받으리라

너는 마음을 다하여 여호와를 의뢰하고 네 명철을 의지하지 말라

너는 범사에 그를 인정하라 그리하면 네 길을 지도하시리라

스스로 지혜롭게 여기지 말찌어다 여호와를 경외하며 악을 떠날찌어다

이것이 네 몸에 양약이 되어 네 몰수로 윤택하게 하리라

네 재물과 네 소산물의 처음 익은 열매로 여호와를 공경하라

그리하면 네 창고가 가득히 차고 네 즙틀에 새 포도즙이 넘치리라

My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart,

for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck;

write them on the table of your heart.

Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

in all you ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.

This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.

Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops;

then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.
