오늘의 표현들
a) (He's) all talk=(행동 없이) 말 뿐이다/말로만 그렇다
b) To buy=to belive, 따라서 "do you really buy that?"이라 물으면
"정말 믿어?"라는 뜻이 된다
c) Amen (to that)="(정말로) 니 말이 맞다"라는 뜻...
d) Coming out of (someone's) mouth=~입에서 말이 나오다
=> "I can't understand the words coming out of your mouth."
(한마디로 니가 지금 뭔 말 하고 있는지 못 알아 듣겠다는 뜻)
Ex)
A: Hey, Phil, are you positive that your brother, Paul, is really quitting his job?
B: Well, at least that's what he told me the other day...
A: Do you really buy that, though? I mean, that word "quitting" just came out of Paul's mouth, if you know what i mean.
B: Yah, you've got a point there! For the past couple of years, he's been telling us million times that he'd quit his job, yet he's still working there.
A: Well, when was the last time we saw him take any actions to support his words? We both know that he's all talk, (you know what I mean?)!
B: Amen to that...

Lesson 16-She's dressed to kill
오늘의 표현들
a) Dressed to kill=옷을 정말 잘 입은...잘 빼 입은...
b) Hottie=매력적인 사람을 가르킬 때 사용(멋진 남녀를 가르킬 때 사용)
c) (he/she's) hot=정말 죽인다(ㅋㅋ), 섹시하다 또는 정말 예쁘다/멋있다
d) (That's) for sure=No doubt="정말 그렇다" "당연하다" 또는 "바로 그거야/니 말이 맞다"는 뜻으로 사용된다. 주로 누군가의 말에 동의 할 때 이 표현들을 사용한다.
A: Hey, jd, look at that hottie walking down the street!
B: Damn, she's hot! I just can't believe my eyes how beautiful she is!
A: No doubt! Look what she's wearing too! She's dressed to kill!
B: Amen! Not many girls can wear what she's wearing now and still
look good, you know?
A: That's for sure~!

==Lesson 16은 아래에 나온 대화를 많이 완화시킨 버전입니다==
a) Chick=girl
b) Dawg=dog=특히 흑인들 사이에서(그중에서도 특히 친구들 사이에서) 자주 사용되는 단어로써 구지 우리말로 해석한다면 "야" 또는 "임마" 와 비슷한 말 이라고 생각하면 된다. 나의 경우는 베스트 프렌드가 흑인이기 때문에 그 친구와 대화를 나눌때는 이 단어를 "Use it all the time!"
A: Yo, jd, check that chick(=여자) out! She's crazy hot!
B: Word...she's freaking hot, dawg! Her boyfriend is the luckiest son of a bitch alive!
A: For sure!
이 다음에 왔어야 할 Dialogue들은 자체 심의에 통과를 하지 못한 관계로 올릴 수 없으니 이해해 주세요...ㅋㅋ
