Lesson 29
*Situation 1
Go ahead/After you=(양보의 뜻으로) 먼저 가(세요)/먼저 타세요
a.Go ahead (first~)
b.Thank you
----------------------
a.After you~
b.Thank you
a.If you are hungry, why don't you go ahead and eat first?
=If you are hungry, why don't you eat first?
a.What time do you want to get together?
b.It's up to you
a.Up to me? Don't you have to finish up your research paper?
b.Actually I do
a.Then why don't you go ahead and finish it up first? Then we'll hang out.
b.That's a good idea~
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Situation 2
On the dot=~
a.What time is it now?
b.It's 3 o'clock now
a.You mean, 3pm on the dot?
b.Yap
(응)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Situation 3
Sharp=정각
a.What time do you want to get together?
b.At 3 o'clock sharp~
a.Alright, i'll see you then~
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Situation 4
(On the phone...) You have(=got) the wrong number
a.Is jd there?
(jd 있어요?)
b.jd? No one by that name lives here. I think you got/have the wrong number~
a.Oops, my mistake. Sorry about that.
b.It's ok~
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Situation 5
Running late=
a.(talking on the phone) I'm calling to let you know that I'm running a little
bit late to our 5 o'clock appointment. Sorry about that...
b.It's ok, don't worry about it~
a.But I'll try to get/be there by 5:20, though~
(= I'll try to make it there by 5:20, though~)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Situation 6
Picky=까다롭다
a.Have you decided what you'd want to cook for dinner tonight?
b.Not yet...
a.Why not?
b.Because Paul is very picky about food, so I can't just cook anything~
a.He's a picky eater, huh?
b.You got that right~

A Letter From jd
Dear my newspaper readers,
[People are put on this earth for a reason and you utilize
the time that you are here. You'll never know when that's
gonna be taken away from you. While I am here and while you
are here, I'd like to make an impact on YOUR LIFE...and
I want YOU to make an impact on MY LIFE, too.]
when you guys are reading my English paper and improving
your english skills, I guess, I can say that I'm making an
impact on your life. ^^ And because I enjoy the fact that
more and more people are reading my English paper, I push
myself extra harder to write better papers. That goes to
show that all my subscribers, (yah, you guys ^^), are making an
impact on my life. For that, I am very thankful to you all~
(To tell you the truth, writing this paper is pretty much the
only thing that I enjoy these days.YvY)
