아마 미국최초의 반인종차별 Anti-racism 노래가 아닐까 합니다.

 

위 사진은 작사가로 하여금 이 시를 쓰게 했던 사진입니다. 1930년 미국 남부 어딘가에서 벌어진 흑인을 린치한 후 나무에 매달아 논 사건입니다.  (Thomas Shipp and Abram Smith, August 7, 1930)

Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees.

The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth,

Then the sudden smell of burning flesh.
