클래식의 현악파트와 합창단의 대거 도입을 통해 심포닉한 사운드를 창조해낸 파워메탈계 이탈리아 그룹으로 판타지 소설과도 같은 내용을 가사로 하는 장르인 에픽메탈 (Epic:서사시(敍事詩), 사시(史詩) 《영웅의 모험·업적 또는 민족의 역사 등을 읊은 시) 의 시초이기도 합니다.
특히 이 독특한(혹은 유치한 -_-;)가사가 하나의 스토리 라인을 따라 이어진다는 것도 눈여겨 볼만 합니다.
