Rob Gonsalves was born in Toronto, Canada in 1959.

His main childhood hobby was drawing

from imagination in various media.

By age 12 his interetst in architecture developed

as he learned perspective drawing techniques

and began to do his first paintings

and renderings of imagined buildings.

After an introduction to the surrealist styles of Dali

and Tanguy he began his first paintings at age 16.
